Protein Shake- Make Yourself a Homemade One

If you’re looking for a great protein shake, why not make one yourself? Here are two cracking recipes to give you your daily protein boost.

Cocoa Almond Protein Shake

A healthy smoothie made with Greek yogurt, almond butter, banana, and cocoa powder. Full of protein and nutrition, and guess what? It tastes like dessert!

Ingredients

¼ cup plus 2 tbsp. milk (I use 2% cow’s milk, you can use soymilk, almond milk, or whatever you prefer)
2 tbsp. almond butter
½ tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ cup Greek yogurt
1 medium banana, sliced and frozen
2 tsp. ground flaxseed (optional)
¾ cup ice cubes

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

 

Strawberry Protein Shake

Ingredients

½ banana
¾ cup Greek yogurt
1 cup lowfat milk
½ tbsp. ground flaxseed
1 ½ cups frozen strawberries
½ cup frozen peaches (or pineapple)

Directions

Place banana, Greek yogurt, milk, flaxseed, and about half of the frozen fruit in a blender. Blend until mostly smooth, and then add the rest of the frozen fruit. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
